She works with individuals to create a collaborative therapeutic dynamic in which the client feels respected, heard, and understood. She knows that each client is the expert in their own life and utilizes this to create a tailored experience in therapy. Julia approaches therapy through a strengths-based perspective, bringing her empathy, compassion and kindness into the room each session. She works with people experiencing anxiety, depression, challenging transitions, trauma, self-esteem, body image issues, and relationship stress.
Julia believes that the greatest tool a therapist holds is creating a safe space for clients to explore their inner selves and foster growth. She knows that a little humor and authenticity go a long way in the therapeutic alliance. Julia utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. Julia believes in the change process and knows that every moment in therapy can help the client get closer to living as their most authentic self.
Julia is a graduate of New York University where she earned her Master’s in Social Work and is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker with a broad range of clinical experience. She obtained her BA from the University of California, San Diego with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociocultural Anthropology.
