The easiest way to find out if therapy is right for you is to give it a shot. Once you step into the therapy room and experience setting aside time each week for yourself with someone who feels like the right support, the reasons will follow.

We specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, body image concerns, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, relationship stress and general coping skills development. We are LGBTQIA+ affirming and work in a Health-At-Every-Size framework. We work with people who want support in making positive changes in their lives.

The office is located at 353 Lexington Avenue on the corner of Lexington and 40th Street in Midtown Manhattan. The office is close to Grand Central.

Sessions are 45-55 minutes. At Thrope Therapy we believe that there is value in showing up for our clients outside of session and we offer email support throughout the week.

Therapy is most effective when utilized weekly. Each case is different and bi-weekly sessions can be accommodated in certain circumstances.

At Thrope Therapy we believe in meeting our clients where they are. We value individualized care and create a unique approach for each client that is tailored to their individual needs. We work with our clients to develop the plan and believe that our clients are the experts of their own stories. At Thrope Therapy, we offer additional support in between sessions and try our best to be available for more than just the 45-55 minutes in session each week.

Intuitive Eating is a weight-inclusive, evidence-based model with a validated assessment scale and over 200 studies to date.
Intuitive Eating can help you dismantle diet culture and move on from the cyclical chains of dieting. Intuitive Eating provides a framework for finding food freedom and body neutrality. Weight Inclusive Care is a framework that defines health in a holistic way. Health exists on a spectrum for each individual and can be defined by many different variables and characteristics. Health is a combination of mental, physical and social well-being. This is an alternative to the weight-centric approach to health that is most commonly taken. We believe in a more nuanced approach to health and work with our clients to find their own unique definition of health.

Like most private practices, we operate as an out-of-network provider. At the end of each month, we provide clients with a superbill that can be submitted to insurance carriers for reimbursement.
Clients with out-of-network benefits often receive between 60% and 80% of the cost of sessions after their deductible is met. You can check with your insurance carrier for details of your coverage.

Submitting Claims
At the end of each month, you will be given a superbill that includes all sessions for the month and you can submit this to your insurance for reimbursement if you have out-of-network coverage.
Reimbursement
After your insurance has processed the claim, you will receive reimbursement for the amount your insurance covers.
